Gold in the category COMPLEXITY, SUSTAINABILITY, AND LONG-TERM MAINTENANCE
Inside Testo’s futuristic headquarters in the Black Forest, a 55-meter-long green spiral rises across three floors—a sculpture of plants and movement.
Designed by aplantis and realized by Sumser Raumbegrünung, the project was awarded gold in the category ‘Complexity, Sustainability, and Long-Term Maintenance’. Since 2019, the installation has demonstrated what sustainable greening can achieve—vital, aesthetic, and enduring.
At the time it had already won the Silver Award for one of Europe’s most innovative projects.
Jury:
“This project is very unique; it consists of a single spiral. It already won silver in the Small Project category back then and now it wins gold because it looks even better now. This shows that originality can very well go hand in hand with longevity and sustainability.”
