INDOOR GREENERY GREEN ROOFS

Green interiors for agile co-working

The new Implenia headquarters in Zurich-Oerlikon unites architecture, nature and corporate culture in an exemplary way. On 13,000 m², a flexible office landscape has been created for around 700 employees, spatially supporting the cultural shift towards agile and collaborative ways of working.

The design concept by Hürlemann AG organises the space into the zones Work, Connect and Relax. A key element, planned and implemented by aplantis, is a cohesive greening concept. Terraces, planting islands, 130-metre-long plant curtains and a lush planted staircase with hanging plants and trees create places of retreat, improve acoustics and the indoor climate, and bring nature tangibly into the building.

The greenery structures the (work) areas, makes sustainability visible and enhances well-being as well as productivity. In recognition of this outstanding achievement, the project received the BUGG Award in 2022 in the “Indoor Greening of the Year” category.
