Dvergshöfdi, Reykjavík

2021 - 2027

Reykjavík, Iceland

INDOOR GREENERY

Hybrid buidling with research roof top

The competition design for Dvergshöfdi in Reykjavík won first prize in 2022 and was developed by Kunz & Mösch from Basel. On the existing foundations of an unfinished underground car park, a hybrid office building is being created that is intended to act as a pioneer for innovative and sustainable construction methods in Iceland.

The interior design opens up exciting possibilities for green concepts: on the ground floor, a moss landscape will be installed in a former lift shaft. Multi-storey hanging plants visually connect the different levels and provide individual screening, while grasses and perennials are integrated flexibly into balustrades.
